Dr. Melisssa Hershberg has identified what she calls the “4th Macronutrient,” (the first three being protien, fat, and carbs), that is necessary for good health and healthy weight.
Most people (physicians, nutritionists, and dieticians included) only recognize three macronutrients:
This is why almost all of the popular diets are either low fat, low carb, or vegetarian (low protein), or some combination of the three. This is also why most diets don’t work. No one can restrict an entire macronutrient category for life and this has been shown time and time again. It’s not fair, it’s not sustainable, and it does not make sense. Humans were designed and created to eat all three macronutrients – protein, carbs, and fat. But most importantly, humans were designed to eat the 4th macronutrient; yet this critically important component of food has been completely ignored.
Featured in Women’s World this month, this diet is touted as the “Water Cure for Belly Fat,” and encourages dieters to eat water-rich foods, like fruits and vegetables. For more details, click here.
